With October now behind us it's time for another moderators monthly recap.
What happened in October?
myTV:
Although quite a few side projects have been developed myTV has still remained the priority with bugs continuing to be fixed (Bug Tracker to be updated in the near future to reflect this). Great new features coming in the next version include support for other naming conventions (such as absolute numbering and naming by aired date) as well as a revamp of the current detection code.
The site:
The site itself has had some work done on it for automatic payment processing (coming soon) and the framework for a registration and authentication system (required for the next trial version).
Side Projects:
Based on initial testing into dvr-ms detection, dgaust has put together a
dvr-ms renamer service which will automatically monitor your recorded tv folder for new shows, renaming and moving them to the appropriate show folder. Crzykidd has put together a script that automatically moves an assortment of shows in one folder into their separate show folders for those of you that have a single "downloads" or "ripped" folder. I have finished up the
i button support to now include extender support, irtrans support and imon support. In addition the
myTV troubleshooter was revamped and now deployed as a tested and stable build. The latest version even includes support for automatically re-configuring your firewall so the service can work correctly (equivalent of the netsh commands) and direct linking of problems to the appropriate pages on the wiki.
Online Collection Viewer:
Kode has deployed an
online myTV collection viewer (join
the group for up to date info) which allows you to upload your collection info and view it from anywhere or even share it with friends. Work on this is undergoing but woodrbe's
TV Collection Manager (myTV Edition) now also contains an export feature for easy uploading to the online collection viewer.
myDVD (name may change)
Work on myDVD is now in full swing with continual discussions in the myDVD design group (open to beta testers only-sorry) and a dvd collection manager now 50% complete. As soon as this is complete and the web service is online it will be opened up to the community so that everyone can take part in contributing to the backend. More info and screenshots to be released with the next monthly recap.
